| 2000-2005 CORPORATE STRATEGIC
DEVELOPMENT PLANS OF HAP SENG GROUP OF COMPANIES The five-year Strategic Development Plan for the Hap Seng Group of Companies continues to focus on the two core businesses of : 1) Oil Palm Plantations and2) Food Manufacturing & Marketing of branded retail packed consumer products. The Plantation Division plans include partly purchasing and partly developing oil palm plantations in order to increase total plantation area to 80,000 hectares (200,000 acres) from the present 46,000 hectares (115,000 acres). This placed Hap Seng among the largest oil palm plantation groups in the world. The Food Division will include equity stakes in four to five major food companies throughout Asia, building Hap Seng Food into a significant player in the Food Industry in Asia which then will provide an interesting Sales, Logistics and Distribution Network throughout Asia. The food companies will mainly be manufacturing retail packaged consumer products under own brand names, with palm oil as one of the basic raw materials. With this two businesses, Hap Seng is building a major distribution network throughout Asia and Central South-West China. |

| Bandar Sri Indah A RM2.5 billion project in Tawau, the biggest township in Sabah with 1,368 acres on a former oil palm estates. Started in 2004, the township is moving fast into Phase 5 of construction. The project is to grow into the largest business and residential hub in Tawau. When completed Bandar Sri Indahwill have 7,493 residential units (992 acres), 788 commercial units (96 acres), 527 industrial units (103 acres) and 28 acres of open space. Amenities on 149 acres will include schools, hypermarket, community hall, sports centre, religious reserve, bus/taxi terminal, market, security centre, and petrol stations. Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) has establish a "one-stop customer service centre" in a two units of double-storey shop at Bandar Sri Indah. The centre is providing services like application and renewal of trading licenses, as well as payment of assessment, postal services, settlement of electricity and water bills. Catering not only the residents of Bandar Sri Indah, but also the growing population of the Apas Balung area, planters and businessmen frequenting the Apas highway. Bandar Sri Indah is a new modern township that is three times the size of the current Tawau town centre. A new settlement area for 70,000 people from within the Tawau Town. Bandar Sri Indah, in the close vicinities of the Membelua and Babanga forest reserves, has 677 homes, 126 shop lots cum offices, and a family park. This largest township development in Sabah is equipped with modern infrastructure and landscapes for homeowners to experience a modern lifestyle. Phase 5 was launched in 2009. This phase include an Anglican primary and secondary school project. |
