Low tide is not necessary a dull time to visit the beach. The early morning receding waters surprisingly revealed a multitude of interesting shapes and forms along the shallow waters.......

.....But to be truthful, the pictures above do not represent the actual situation at this beach. It’s usually easy to ignore the negatives, not photograph the ugly scenes and just post the nice & pretty pictures of the places we visit. But Kinarut beach was just too sad to ignore. All the beautiful things about this beach is marred by the fact that all along the shore, the receding high tide leaves all of these behind….

.....Tonnes of rubbish lie on the beach, each and every single item silently whispering the name of some uncivilized culprit who discarded it somewhere far away long ago before finally finding its way on this once beautiful beach.......

Kinarut Beach Cheese

Kinarut Beach Cheese is the first commercial cheese maker in Sabah and Malaysia, which started to produce a variety of cheeses in 2006.

Besides being marketed at the retail outlets, the high quality cheeses that are handmade with locally produced milk from Desa are also supplied to major local hotels, such as Nexus Karambunai Resort, Shangri La Tanjung Aru Hotel, Shangri La Rasa Ria Resort, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu and Le Meridien.

Kinarut Beach Cheese has been producing popular cheeses like Brie, Baby Brie, Camembert, Feta and Marinated Feta, and is planning to make Blue Cheese and Mozzarella too. Its cheese-making farm has been an attraction to tourists and students who came to find out how cheeses are made.

Here are the processes of cheese making: Fresh milk is warmed, then acidified with a culture before the enzyme rennet is added to cause coagulation and create curds and whey.

The curds are cut into small bits with special knives before being packed Into a mold and pressed to make its texture denser. Next, the cheeses are placed in a low temperature room and go through a ripening period before they are ready for the market.
