| Flying Doctor Service
The Health Ministry has awarded State
Government-owned Sabah Air Aviation Sdn Bhd a Flying Doctor Service
contract for the next four years 2012 to 2016.
Flying Doctor Service, under the State Health Department, has served Sabah's rural population for over 37 years, making it a pioneer in this region.
The Health Ministry has been
working with the State Health Department for many years now to
ensure that the Primary Health Care Programme in rural regions is
executed in a seamless manner. The service available today, and what most of us take for granted, is the result of years of fine-tuning and development by the health authorities and air service providers such as Sabah Air. There is a growing
requirement to ensure rapid transfers between hospitals for critical
care patients, human organs to transplants and even transferring ill
and injured personnel of oil and gas offshore facilities to the
nearest appropriate hospitals. |
