Applying for a new Malaysian Passport at Immigration Department Tawau Branch.

You will encounter 3 counters : Counter 1 to get a form, Counter 2 to submitt yout form and Counter 3 to pay Rm300 passport fees

1)  The counter for New Passport is at the right hand side as soon as you enter the office at 4th floor. (Not the counter at the far front left. That counter is for Foreign Visa and Pass)

2) Get an application form for Rm1.00

When you have the form completed come back to this counter again and submitt the following completed set of documents. The staff will check that you have all the dicument ready befor giving  you a queue number to proceed to the next counter of passport officer.  Take a seat and wait for call of your number.

1) Following documents you need to produce at the :

    The completed passport application form ;

    Two color passport photos;

    One photo copy of your IC ( original to be produce to the officer for verification);

2) Get ready Rm300.00 to be paid on the same morning.   Malaysian officers are very efficent now.  Malaysian Passport will be ready 24 hours. But most applicats get their passport ready within the same day (less then 12 hopurs)

Malaysian Passport Fee :

32 pages passport - Adult Rm300.00

32 pages passport - Child (12 years beloow) Rm150.00

64 pasge passport - Adult Rm600.00

Passport ready in 24 hours.  (But you may get it less then 12 hours if all your documents are ready and few other are applying (no long queue).

Document required for submitting to Immigration Department for renewal of passport of a child with foreign mother :

Photo copy of following : (original to be present to officer for verification at the counter)

1) copy IC of father

2) copy birth certificate of the child

3) copy of marriage certificate of parent

4) copy of passport of foreign mother. First page with the detail and page with the valid VISA

Original document to be submitted

5) Original old passport (will be returned with the new passport)

6) 2 passport color photos
