9:30 am : We hired a taxi to see University Malaysia Sabah the most beautiful University in Asia.

The Taxi driver asked for Rm35.00 per hour. The visit took us 2 hours.

University Sabah is on a beautiful location of  blue seashore under a range of green mountains. The university  run along a valley with a number of hills in the middle. The entry to the university is quite spectacular with the Vice Chancellor buildings on a hill opposite the gate.

Sabah is proud of this most beautiful university in Malaysia

On right side top (white) is where Kota Kinabalu City is.  On top front is Gaya Island.

Panorama view from side of road to Marin Museum.  When the university building construction completed in two years time visitors will not be able to view from road side such a beautiful view.

Akuarium dan Muzium Marin UMS (AMUMS)
Museum and Aquarium of The Marine Borneo Research Institute is equipped with sophisticated facilities for "show case" and one of the kind in Borneo. The museum and the aquarium are opened to the public on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday beginning 10.00 am to 4.30 pm. On Friday both are opened from 10 am to 11.30 am. It is closed on Wednesday.
 
The state-of-the-art aquarium and marine museum is another new addition within the UMS campus. It is situated within the Borneo Marine Research Institute (BMRI) Complex adjunction to the Sepanggar Bay Area. The aquarium and marine museum houses one of the best marine aquarium facility in Borneo to date and among its’ facilities are;
  • Free standing exhibition tanks
  • Live open water reef exhibition centre
  • Live shallow reef exhibition centre
  • Live deep reef live exhibition centre
  • Mangrove walk
  • Contemporary Marine and Maritime Museum
  • Multimedia Interactive Information Kiosk
  • Sipadan deep dive diorama

Mei Yin (the small girl position in front the mouth of dolphin skeleton) discovered new thing up in ceiling of the entrance to this Aquarium.

Both children were excited with the live marine creatures as well as museum display in UMS's aquarium.

If not we were paying by the hour to the charted taxi we would have spend more time to discover and learning here which houses one of the best marine aquarium facility in East Malaysia.


This  public aquarium-cum-museum has been established with the aim of imparting education and promoting public awareness of preserving aquatic natural resources of Sabah and of the World.


After leaving UMS on the way back to hotel we drop in  SM Chun Chin just for a couple of minutes for a look at this secondary school.

Chun Chin Secondary School is a private school and is one of the best Chinese School in Sabah.


DOWN THE MEMORY LANE - a walk into family pass. This is the road where the Wong family member walk for half a century. From here we walk to see Wong's family land, the old school, the old cemetery.

The tour begin from Atkinson Clock Tower > to 'Japanese Tonal Cave' > to old Sanba House > to the old Lok Yuk School/old Basel Church  where many of the Wong Family members once studied > to the old BASEL GRAVE YARD where most of the late member rest in peace > to the hill top where I watch the setting sun as a child > to see the Rail Way where Wong Shin Chiang once worked.

 


 

We changed schedule and did not visit The Sabah Museum and The Heritage Village

The Sabah Museum is the most prestigious museum in Sabah and is the State's showcase of its rich cultural heritage and exhibits Sabah's history, culture, social and natural history in one place.


10:00 pm  Arrived at KK Terminal 2 where we spend the night in order to catch an early flight to Miri at  6:55 am. Good night zzZZZ

12:31 am But it was the mother who zzZZZ after a tied day of taking care of the family.  Mei Yin was still busy with her coloring and Chun Xing could not close his comic books. We were in Ethon Book Store in Centre Point before coming to air port Terminal 2.
