Sentosa Medical Centre started as a small nursing home at 316 Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, KL in 1972 and changed name to Sentosa Medical Centre (SMC) in 1979.

The present new premises building is a 200 bedded 8-storey modern hospital with basement parking area. Within the vicinity of Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Institute of Medical Research and University Kebangsaan Medical Faculty.
