Chinese Yunnan Culture Center Location : Chinese Village in Pai Town, Mae Hong Son The Chinese Yunnan Culture Center was declared open on February 9, 2005 by Mae Hong Son deputy governor Mr. Prasit Prasertsri. Exhibition in this Chinese Yunnan Culture Center shows the ancient Yunnan Chinese lifestyle. There are stores selling local souvenir products and imported Chinese items like Chinese Tea. A restaurant serving Yunnan Chinese food throughout the day. A second restaurant is under construction and scheduled to start service by end of 2006. A low cost guest house is being planned. Future visitors can stay in the village which is production center of Laichee fruit in Pai town. This Chinese village is 4 kilometers from Pai town and has a population about 2,000. The villagers include hill tribe people, immigragrents from Yunnan and 48 are formal nationalist Chinese solders. The villagers built this culture center to attract tourists. |
