Master of Environmental Science
(Integrated Water Resources Management)
One of the key concerns facing sustainable
development is to ensure the efficient and effective management of natural
resources consistent with the ecological, development and environmental
sustainability. Today, the management of water resources presents a major
concern to many countries in Asia and elsewhere.
Realising this, the Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM) programme has
been developed by a consortium of academics from public universities and based
on the recommendation of Malaysian Water Partnership (MWP), Malaysia Capacity
Building Network (MyCapNet) and the Regional Humid Tropics Hydrology and Water
Resources Centre for Southeast Asia (HTC, Kuala Lumpur)
The objectives of the Master of Environmental Science are to:
1 - Provide graduates with a thorough understanding of water resource
conservation and management, sustainable development of ground water resources
and environments.
2 - Provide graduates with the ability to critically evaluate the existing water
resources and management system.
3 - Provide graduates with the knowledge to improve water conservation and
management systems throughout the world.
