Malaysia is moving towards Vision
2020, with the resolution to make Malaysia an industrialized country by the
year 2020. To achieve this aspiration, we need quality human resource in
terms of education and training.
For these purposes, The Council of Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (Board of Directors) had established School of
Professional and Continuing Education SPACE in July, 1993. SPACE operation
was expanded to UTM Campus in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur (UTM
“City Campus”) |

SPACE took the first step by offering 30 students the Master of
Transportation Planning under the Out Campus Part Time Study Programme
(now known as Part-Time Study Programme (PSM). This is followed in the
subsequent year in 1994 with the Master of Gas Engineering (36 students)
and programmes at certificate level (433 students) as well as other short
courses, seminar and workshop sessions.
A total of 5,326 graduates have successfully completed their studies
with SPACE through the Part-time Learning Programme.
