Tawau district which has the same water conditions of the Celebes Sea as the two mentioned areas, is also the main area of seaweed cultivation in Malaysia. With the authorities, through the local institutions and agencies having ongoing projects to promote seaweed culture in the area, the seaweed production has since increased gradually.

TACARA is at present producing a range of kappa and iota Carrageenan products.

Today, our research and development team, working closely with local and foreign institutions and technical experts, continues to focus on developing new and innovative ways to utilize carrageenan.
