Photographs and text by Wong.                    Photographed in Sabah,

A male Prodasineura humeralis (Selys, 1860) of Malaysia found in State of Sabah.
The most slender (thinnest) damselfly I ever seen. First time I see this species, must be very few in Malaysia.

The color is not black nor brown, it is chocolate color. Under the sun the eyes of this Prodasineura humeralis are like my favorite chocolate-milk candy .

The reproductive organs on segment 2 of above male Prodasineura humeralis. No wonder a pair can remain so tight together while flying in the wheel position…… the male damselflies has ‘long sharp claws’

The two pairs of claspers on segment 10. Relative short in proportion with the extraordinary long abdomen.
