Orchid flower's anatomy
Most orchid flowers contain both male and female reproductive organs in one
flower.
But the Genus
Grammatophyllum is exceptions to this.
Grammatophyllum orchids have separate sex flowers.
Female reproductive organs have a stigma and stigmatic opening.
Male reproductive organs have pollinia and anther caps.

Each raceme can grow to a height of 3m, bearing up to eighty flowers, each 10 cm
wide. The flowers are yellow colored with maroon or dark red spots.
Grammatophyllum speciosum flowers are remarkable, since the lowest flowers have no lip and these flowers function as osmophores (male flower) for the entire inflorescence and continue to emit chemical scent to attract pollinators as flowers open in succession.
Grammatophyllum speciosum blooms only once every two to four years.
Grammatophyllum speciosum orchid can remain in bloom for two months.
A raceme 總狀花序 is a flower cluster with the separate flowers attached by short equal stalks at equal distances along a central stem. The flowers at the base of the central stem develop first.
