1Borneo Hypermall is celebrating Christmas of 2009 with the theme Magical Christmas. The management and tenants of 1 Borneo put much effort for this season¡'s celebrations to bring the excitement of Christmas to Kota Kinabalu. They turn 1Borneo Hypermall into a magical metamorphosis of winter wonderland, complete with snowflakes, fairies, nymphs, and all manner of fantastic decorations. A major installation of acrylic and stainless steel Christmas decorations lighted up the hypermall into mood for Christmas this year.

This biggest shopping centre in Kota Kinabalu welcomes every customer with a Magical Christmas theme. The Christmas decoration of the whole mall is second to none with Santa Claus, Reindeers, Snow man, snow flakes, fairies, and Christmas Trees

The centre atrium has a beautiful Castle (photo above) that reaches almost the top of the building, which is four storey high.

The castle is made out of more than 2,000 sq ft of crafted polyfoam and yards of rouge velvet, while the hypermall itself sparkled with over 30,000 LED lights and 500 snowflakes, fairies and nymphs.

The aim of the year 2008 decorations is to bring the sparkle and shine to Kota Kinabalu City with a 40ft high fairytale castle with falling snowflakes.

The decorations offer a good mix of traditional and contemporary Christmas themes and bring a real festive glow to the hyper mall. The intricacies of the castle include more than 2,000 sq ft of crafted polyfoam and yards of rouge velvet while the hyper mall will radiate with approximately 30,000 LED lights and 500 shimmering snowflakes, fairies and nymphs.
