To explore this paradise, you will stay in the Barefoot Sukau Lodge, named by National Geographic Adventure magazine in 2009 as one of the top 50 jungle lodges in the world. Built in 1995 in traditional Malaysian architecture and renovated in 2010, it is built on stilts with a bar lounge, a gift shop, Gomantong Hall meeting place, an education centre, Hornbill Boardwalk with two Elephant passes, three open decks for wildlife viewing, an enclosed garden, a riverside Melapi restaurant, an open sun-deck and a river jetty.
