Kenyalang Park holds lots of memories for me. I grew up in one of these houses in the 70s. It used to be a dead-end road (on the right of this picture). As a kid in those days when computers were not yet invented, I used to play in the drain or climb the umbrella tree in front of my house. Those were good old days....................

Kenyalang Park, Kenyalang Suburb. A very old place that consists of a cluster of shop houses and one enclosed area. Its the place to go if you want to find cheap items like clothes, accessories and DVDs/VCDs. Around Jan-Feb, Chinese families come here to get supplies for the Chinese New Year celebrations - which are available only once a year.

" Its like a Chinatown ! ".

As usual , the atmosphere were crowdy, and the shops are all reddish. Its all usual stuff they sell on Chinese New Year. Lanterns, Chinese New Year  decorations and FOOD and Snacks!.......
Bright and Reddish Lanterns ! These lanterns are Pineapple shape look-alike. Hokkien people likes to display pineapple as decorations during Chinese new year. In Hokkien, pineapple is known as "ong lai". the word "ong" itself is means something like Luck or Good..................
