There is another structure built in the park using designs found among the native communities in Sarawak.

It is located in the Native Garden, which also features a giant vase carrying Iban motifs.

Coming up soon in this particular garden will be huge wooden pillars complete with carvings from the various native groups, which will certainly give it more colour and dimension.

This multi-racial recreational park reflects the distinctive composition of Miri, which is a very cosmopolitan town with many different communities living together.

Miri is essentially a “migrant town,” made up of people from other divisions in Sarawak and other states and also expatriates who had moved here during the oil-rush in the early 1900s.

Opened only two years ago, the recreational park can attract a larger number of visitors and tourists if it is used as the venue for more events such as plays, martial arts demonstrations, and cultural musical and dance performances.

In fact, there is already an open-air amphitheatre in place that would be ideal for staging events of this nature.

Miri City Fan is Towards the northern part of the City, a public park of fan-shape occupying 26 acres.

It is an urban civic park  Its Garden of Vision symbolizes social harmony and progress.

The Formal Garden has a classical fountain

the Botanical Garden features the rich cultural elements of Sarawak's diverse communities.

In the grounds is Pustaka Miri or Miri IT Library, an amphitheater and a swimming pool. The Library is housed in a two-storey horseshoe-shaped building with a courtyard planted with many scented flowering plants. The whiff of sweet fragrance gives visitors a nice treat to their nasal senses.

Miri City Fan was built as part of the master plan for Miri to become a Healthy Resort City. This unique fan-shaped park became a world-class urban civic park with the setting for sport, educational and cultural activities. It includes a promenade, an amphitheatre, a musical fountain, a library and cultural centre, and various ethnic gardens. It provides superb social and recreational facilities for the public.

During our 4 days in Miri, unfortunately the musical fountain never on function, this we missed out a great fun and excitement for the 2 children, especially Mei Yin who has never seen a Musical Fountain yet.  She asked how does the water dance when I told her in Musical Fountain one can see how water dance with music. Perphen in our next trip to Kuala Lumpur I could bring this 5 years old girl to see for her first time a Musical Fountain.
