The Tawau Municipal Council (TMC) has ordered an illegal shipyard at the beach of Ba Zhong Commercial Centre here to be closed for fear the area would become a squatter settlement.

Tawau Municipal Council President Datuk Ismail Mayakob said the illegal settlement of squatter boats has long been there and legal action needs to be taken to prevent serious social problems.
