The Green Book of Birth Registration

All parents celebrate their children's full moon with pride and joy.

Full moon is the day a baby has completed the birth for a month. It is a day where parents will announce and celebrate an auspicious baby's full moon.  . Additionally, a Full Moon Gift as a gesture of MANY THANKS will be distributed to all guests, relatives and friends. Our mother will boil many eggs and dye them in red and give out to all relatives and friends. Traditionally, the Chinese will celebrate this occasion with close relatives and friends.

We had very few relatives then and hardly we receive from relatives and friends gifts of eggs dyed red.

Like other tradition. after birth, she would rest for up to one month during which she had Chicken Wine Soup for each meal. This old custom which is not so widely practised now.

From the relatives,  the flow of gifts and big 'ang pow' received for this this new born is in fact the most happiest moments to a family.

Wong Syak Kee keeps details records that today, after 40 over years, still reflects thee joy they have that time and the 'CONGRATULATION' from relatives from far away.

The $ Dollar used at that time of British Colony was British Borneo Dollar $. Not US$
