The different between grasshoppers and crickets:

 Grasshopper
Crickets have long antennae Grasshoppers have short antennae.
Crickets stridulate ("sing") by rubbing their wings together Grasshoppers stridulate by rubbing their long hind legs against their wings
Cricketsdetect sound by means of little 'ears' at on the front legs Grasshoppers detect sound by means of little 'ears' at the base of their abdomen
Crickets are crepuscular (which means they come out at dusk) Grasshoppers tend to be out and about during the day
Crickets are partial to animal matter as well. Most Grasshoppers mostly eat grass
   


 
A cricket found in Mimpiang Jadi Resort. It  has dark eyes and very long antenna.
