Only a few minutes by boat from Sipadan Island but a full world away from it lies the exhilarating Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort, sitting on its sturdy stilts on the shallow sandbanks of the Ligitan Reefs. Planned and built in full style as an airy, comfortable , sunny water village with no land in sight, it boasts a mile long sandbank of powdery white sand where one can suntan at complete leisure. The Resort offers great food, surprisingly roomy and elegant twin-sharing wooden chalets with huge private balconies and attached bathrooms and a couple of miles of walkways for those who like to take their morning jog while looking at thousands of fish just a few inches beneath their structure, while a big western sundeck allows divers to have an evening drink or an after-dive chat with a background of fabulous tropical sunsets. Diving around Kapalai is exceedingly easy and shallow but quite spectacular: the sandy bottom and the sparse coral heads host an amazing array of small, often yet-to-be-classified, shamelessly colourful subjects, making the diving here an unforgettable experience for any discerning photographer. The Resort offers three dives a day around Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai

The entire resort was built on top of the shallow sandbanks of a large submerged Ligitan Reefs. The water changed dramatically from deep blue to shades of emerald and turquoise at the reef edge.

All timber buildings and chalets were connected by about a kilometer of long wooden walkways raised 2-3 meters above the water and adorned with pretty bougainvilleas on both sides.

Everywhere in the water were starfishes together with patches of hard and soft corals and all kinds of marine fishes swimming freely about.

Sipadan-Kapalai Dive Resort is like a very large natural marine aquarium where the fish exhibits were constantly changing.

Every chalet and every building offered beautiful vistas of the open sea with Mabul and Sipadan islands clearly visible in the distance.

Accommodation on a sharing basis on the resort.

Fresh food cooked by chinese chef on buffet style.

Afternoon snacks served after 3rd dive, tea/coffee, cold water and cordial served thru out the day.

Tanks, weight and belt are provided.

Night dives with a buddy are included if you are an advanced diver.
