leader Kim Jong Un. Help University, a Kuala Lumpur-based private-run university, held a ceremony to mark the conferment at the North Korean Embassy in the Malaysian capital on Oct. 3, 2013 The North Korean ambassador to Malaysia, one of the few countries that have friendly relations with the reclusive nation, accepted the diploma on Kims behalf in the presence of 35 or so invited guests. It marked the first time for the university to award an honorary doctorate to a foreign head of state. In a statement, Help University President Paul Chan said he hopes the soft, constructive approach can build a bridge to reach the North Korean people and help them.
