Centre of Preparatory Studies
The Centre of Preparatory Studies offers a programme that is specially
designed to prepare students for the first year of Bachelor programmes at
Universiti Kuala Lumpur. The programme is:

Centre For Research And Postgraduate Studies
The Centre for Research and Postgraduate Studies (CRPGS) was established
in 2003 to facilitate research activities which include exploration for research
funds, research awareness training and development of research policy e.g.
Intellectual Properties. Programmes offered are:

Institute For Product Design And Manufacturing (IPROM)
The Institute for Product Design and Manufacturing (IPROM) was established in
2003. Graduates from these programmes will have acquired a good understanding of
the aesthetic, analytical and manufacturing skills necessary to effectively
develop new products. IPROM provides students with a good foundation to progress
to a professional engineering status. By combining a sound manufacturing
engineering base with a thorough design education, our graduates are trained to
conceive and develop innovative designs and turn them into manufacturing reality
and profitable products. IPROM also offers consultancy and undertakes research
and development activities.

Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI)
Universiti Kuala Lumpur British Malaysian Institute (UniKL BMI) was
established in 1998 as a result of a partnership between the Malaysian and
British government. On the Malaysian side, MARA provides the infrastructure and
manpower; whilst the British provides support and the expertise from companies
such as BAE SYSTEMS, British Airways, Standard Chartered Bank (M) Sdn. Bhd,,
Rolls Royce and other educational institutions in England. The combination of
Malaysians' desire to learn and the sharing of British and vast knowledge has
created a world class centre for engineering and technical education. Programmes

Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Chemical and
Bioengineering Technology (UniKL MICET) is situated in Taboh Naning, Melaka.
UniKL MICET is the pioneer institution of higher learning in providing
chemical-based hands- on education in Malaysia. Our courses place value on the
interaction between scientific and technological training and industrial
experience. The contents of the-^ courses offered are regularly reviewed

Institute (UniKL MFI)
Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysia France Institute (UniKL MFI) is a joint
project between France and Malaysia. It is an advance technical training centre
in the fields of engineering specializing in automation, electrical, mechanical,
maintenance and computer networking that was incorporated in February 1995. The
French partners are represented by JF Boccard and the Association de Formation
Professionelle de Hndustrie Rhodanienne (AFPI) whilst MARA is the Malaysian
partner, Programmes offered are from diploma to degree levels. Programmes

Malaysian Institute (UnlKL MSI)
Established in response to the rapidly increasing demand of the industry
and incorporating the most advanced technology in Automotive Engineering,
Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Spanish Institute (UniKL MS!) commenced its
operation at a temporary campus in August 2002 and moved to its main campus
which is built on a 39.27 acre piece of land in Kulim Hi Tech Park, Kedah in
December 2003. A collaborative effort between the Malaysian and Spanish
government, UniKL MSI offers automotive engineering programmes with a
combination of theoretical training and practical application.

Institute of Aviation Technology (UniKL MIAT)
Universiti Kuala Lumpur Malaysian Institute of Aviation Technology is
unique as it is the only campus in Malaysia to offer aircraft maintenance
technology programmes. It was originally established in 1997 as part of MARA
Vocational Training with Northrop-Rice U.S.A as the technology provider. The
need for national aviation development programme is laid down in the government
blueprint as promulgated by Tun Mahathir Mohamad, which has become our point of
reference in our quest to be the Centre of Excellence for Aviation Training. The
quality of the programme is monitored and audited by the Department of Civil
Aviation Malaysia for its compliance to worldwide aviation standards and
accepted by the industries. Programmes offered are:

Perak. The main function of UniKL MIMET is to offer industry specific courses in
ship design, ship construction and ship maintenance technology UniKL MIMET aims

Student Support Service and Student Development Activities
Counselling & Career Guidance To cope with daily stress and challenges,
students are always encouraged to meet up with counsellors to help them lessen
their burden. Other than helping students with their personal and family
problems, the counsellors will also assist the students in determining the right
career path for them.
Accommodation The quality of the college environment especially the student
accommodation area is an essential component in determining their academic
success and enjoyment of student life. The Accommodation Office will provide the
support the students need on issues concerning accommodation. The students are
housed in hostels located close to their respective branch campuses /
institutes.
