| Universiti Darul Iman Malaysia (UDM)
is the eighteenth public university in
Malaysia. Established on 1 st January
2006, it is the first university to be based on
the "cluster" concept. UDM aims to be an
internationally recognized institute of higher
learning, to produce future leaders who are
talented, trained, and well educated with
high regard for culture, high morale plus a
towering personality. It has three campuses, each with a separate and identifiable niche. The KUSZA Campus focuses on teaching and research in Islamic studies and professional courses such as Accountancy, Law and Engineering. The City Campus offers Allied Health Sciences programmes such as Nursing, Radiography and Medical Laboratory Technology. The Besut Campus which is still in the pipeline will focus on Agriculture and Biotechnology programmes. Academic Strengths UDM provides adequate lecture halls and classes for the students. Other relevant facilities such as a library, language labs and computer labs are also provided. |
| Student Hostels At the moment, UDM can accommodate 3000 students in its 6 residential areas. In March 2008, UDM will be able to add another 2500 students with the completion of new and modern student residential areas. Sports and Recreation UDM provides a gymnasium for badminton, squash, ping-pong and volleyball. Facilities for other sports are also provided such as football fields, tennis courts and others. The unique feature of the programmes is the integration of curriculum from Islamic perspectives, f > Accountancy - 4 years A structured curriculum touching on Financial Accounting, Cost and Management Accounting, Taxation and Accounting for Islamic Institution among others, it is in accordance with the level required by the related international professional bodies. Students are required to undergo a three-month practical training in selected accounting firms. > Business Administration (Islamic Finance) - 4 years This aims at producing graduates in the field of business administration with knowledge and skills in Islamic banking, Takaful and finance that satisfy the market needs. Students are exposed to a 6-month industrial training at selected financial institutions > Islamic Studies (Usuluddin) - 3 years This is a three-year programme with 125 credit hours, inclusive of 6 credit hours for industrial training > Islamic Studies (Da'awah) - 3 years This is a three-year programme with 125 credit hours, inclusive of 6 credit hours for industrial training. > Islamic Studies (SYARIAH) - 3 years This is a three-year programme with 127 credits hours, inclusive of 6 credit hours for industrial training. > Law - 4 years The Bachelor of Law (LL.B programme) is designed to give students a thorough technical ability to handle legal materials, a strong awareness of the social, political and historical dimensions of law nationally and internationally, emphasising on the increasing interest and development in Islamic transactions, finance, property and insurance with international and comparative perspectives. > Agricultural Biotechnology - 4 years This focuses on agriculture, biotechnology and agribusiness. Students will be exposed to various sectors of agriculture industries through compulsory industrial training during the semester breaks.

| Academic Facilities AND Resources UDM's facilities include lecture halls, classrooms, library, language and computer labs, gymnasium, badminton courts, squash courts, tennis courts, volleyball court, ping- pong tables, football fields and hockey fields.
