Freshwater Malayan Gharial (Tomistoma) The Freshwater Malayan, commonly known as Tomistoma, is a rare species of freshwater crocodiles, found mainly inhabiting in island swamps and river systems, they are not as dangerous as the Saltwater Crocodiles, but will attack if is forced to. But normally, Tomistoma feeds on fishes & very small vertebrates, such as lizards or animals. |
Arapaima One of the largest tropical freshwater fish in the world, which its length can reach,^:e than 2m(6.6 ft). It is commonly highlighted as the "Giants" in ponds. The diet of the arapaima consists offish, crustaceans, and other small animals. Arapaima Feeding Demonstration: ii.30am & 3.30pm Daily The Arapaima Feeding Demonstration is located at the middle of our gigantic Fresh Water Pond, where the Arapaima and more than 15 other species of freshwater tropical fishes habitats. See face to face with the Giants in the ponds & experience nature. Visitors can also take a rest here in the gondola like stage after while watching the fishes feed. With the Arapaima swimming around in the pond & water lilies floating around, it might just bring you some relaxation through the natural zen.

Jong's Crocodile Farm
Jong's Crocodile Farm and mini-zoo is located 29 km from Kuching, just off the Serian road. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. Feeding times are 11 am and 3 pm approximately. RM 8 (adult), RM 4 (child). Take STC bus No. 3, 3A or 9 to Siburan village. Tel: 863570. Set amidst the charming backdrop of tall tropical trees, lush vegetation and local fruit trees lies this unique farm with over a thousand crocodiles bred in captivity. The farm provides a perfect sanctuary for the reptiles, saving the species from extinction. There are huge and deep concrete ponds and natural breeding grounds for the crocodiles to mate and multiply. Visitors are able to gaze at the snapping jaws, cold menacing eyes, sharp pointed teeth and powerful lashing tails of the crocs within short distance yet safe because of the metal fence. Apart from crocodiles there are also numerous rare species of birds and animals found only in the Borneo Island. Visitors can have the enchanting experience of walking freely among the monkeys, leopard-cats, sunbears, bearcats, pheasants, civets, barking deers, sambar deers, turtles, fruit bats, monitor lizards, pythons and even hombills. This privately-owned farm is the biggest in Malaysia and is situated about 30 Km south of Kuching. About 2,000 of these reptiles are bred here and well-kept behind enclosures. Around the farm, various wild animals from our very own forest are also caged for public viewing, namely; the rhinoceros honebill, peacock, the long-tailed macaque, python, samba Deer, bearded Wild Boar, sun bear and monitor lizard. The Crocodile Farm is located about 29km (18 Vi Mile) from Kuching City, just off the Kuching-Serian Highway on the way to Skrang River, Batang Air Resort. It is easily accessible by road, which takes only 20 minutes by car and is a popular stop-over for tourists and locals enroute to their Skrang River Safari for an adventure of a lifetime.
