CityONE Megamall
The largest commercial
development in Sarawak with gross development value (GDV) of
RM300 million, CityONE Mega mall offers a variety of
products catering to every whim and fancy.
Kenbest Sdn Bhd (Kenbest), boasts over 1.5 million square
feet of gross space evenly spread across a four-storey
building. It house 400 retail outlets with Metrojaya, GSC
and Celebrity Fitness as powerful anchor tenants.
CityONE is set to transform the landscape with its prime
location, accessibility at the intersection between Jalan
Song and Jalan Tun Jugah.
CityONE Mega mall is divided into three retail zones namely
‘Zone ABCD’, ‘Inner Mall’ and ‘Mall 2'.
Zone ABCD as well as the ‘Inner Mall’ and ‘Mall 2' will be
covered as one whole unit and will be air conditioned and
linked-up with specially designed bridges
Taking inspirations from the Beijing Olympic stadium, the
exterior of the mall would portray a bird nest theme facade,
which cost RM15 million. Sarawak is famous for its bird nest
products
The steel line of the nest alone cost RM6.1 million, and if
combined into one whole stretch, it would reach up to five
kilometers long.
Kenbest would own 60 per cent of the mall, while the
remaining sold off to the tenants.
The company retain a major stake of the project so as to
directly participate in the growth and sustainability of the
development and be able to monitor the progress of this mega
project that is slated to have a profound impact on Kuching
spurring on further development.
The layout of the mall has being meticulously planned to
allow as much visual access and traffic accessibility.
Certain ground floor units will have double frontage similar
to modern malls like KL’s Pavilion and MidValley so that
patrons can quickly access the unit directly from the
street.
CityONE is due to open by the second half of 2012. “We will
be opening to the public by then. With a net retail space of
650,000 square feet, we hope to be able to provide something
for everyone in Sarawak.”
This is going to be an additional 68,000 sq meter (750,000
sq ft) to the existing total NLA of Kuching shopping
Centers.
City1 building will has 3-4 storey retail floor, it has more
than 400 strata-titled shop lots for sells.
Suitable retailer for the anchor tenant unit is still under
negotiation and the major tenants allocation will be
announce as soon as possible after the decision is make. The
mall is scheduled to be completed by Christmas 2011!
