Pai has a mosque in the centre of town whose
speakers fill the town with the call to prayer several times a day.
Many Chinese Yunnanese residents, most of whose forebears migrated to Pai within
the last 60 years, follow the Muslim faith. These small number of Muslim Chinese
congregate in the southern part of Pai town. With a Muslim contingent, falafel
restaurants also available.
