ROOMS

When ever unable to decide on which hotel to select in a small town like Semporna, try this grandpa's old wisdom "A new broom sweeps clean".

Sipadan Inn is one of these new accommodation in Semporna. Rooms are nice and spotless. The staff are very friendly and helpful - new brooms sweep clean.  Whatever things are new, the owner always keep them clean and sparking new. For example your new car. Same with a hotel. "A new broom sweeps clean".

Comparing few other places in Semporna, the Sipadan Inn is among the best. Relatively cheap. Good value, recommended by many of its guests stayed before.

Bear in mind this is a Shop-House Hotel, there is no elevator for this only three floors building. But the staff are always ready to help when you need a hand for your overweight luggage.

Room facilities, cleanliness, nice service, location are all nicely satisfactory. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room,  flat screen TV, 2 bottles of water, hot shower, towels, soap, shampoo, extra pillow are ready in the room.  The air con is quiet, air con are quiet when new.

This is one of the favorite low cost hotels of sea lovers from around the world, but the hotel is facing East so do NOT ever expect a room with lovely seaview of the South. If you are a diver, you most probable chose here because your drive shop is just next block.

Visitors staying in Semporna only on way out to the islands and on way back from the sea. Otherwise, Semporna has not other reasons to spend a night.

Sipadan Inn has three types of rooms :
1) Standard with no windows,
2) Superior with windows on the front street, may be small but good bed, cool air-con,
3) VIP with windows on the back alley. This Deluxe Triple. is spacious. Both rooms and bathrooms are clean and new air-conditioning always worked very well.

The deluxe rooms have electric kettles and instant coffee, but no refrigerator.

If you are a non-smoker, ask for a non-smoking room that you deserved.

If Sipadan Inn is 1 Star, the newer Sipadan Inn 2 is 2 Stars. Bothe Inn are ooperated by the same company. You are NOT in tight budget, then this 2 Stars next block might be your best bet. Those who prefer a batter standard can always upgrade to Sipadan Inn II which have a better view with balcony towards the sea.

Price is reasonable and most importantly beds are comfortable and clean. Has everything basic you need, but no frills.

Sometimes the inn may filled with tourists that had no clue about hotel etiquette. Young people need times to learn.
 

WIFI

Computers are available in the lobby. Free WiFi throughout the hotel. Wifi strength varied between rooms and between location.
 

LOCATION

Sipadan Inn is centrally located in the tourist end of Semporna; close to markets, restaurants, and dive shops. The location is close to the pier, close to scuba junkie or other scuba shops.

Locate at the same row with Sipadan Inn is Sipadan Scuba Dive Shop ( North Borneo Divers) where booking to Mabul trip available.
Guardian Store is near by where you can buy sunblock .
 
 If you need an ATM, walk to the Maybank near the Mosque.

Location has many restaurants and a Giant supermarket nearby. The jetty is about 20 meters away. Dive shops all around, supermarket, bars and a great Indian Malaysian mamuk that do great roti. Great price for what you get. Worth getting decent accommodation in Semporna as it is not such a nice town.

THE OPEN SEA

Being beside the open sea, the area does have a distinctive smell about it, as it is also near the open fish market.

EATING OUT

There are nearby restaurants that open till late night.
A Pharmacy at the back of the hotel that opens till 10pm.
A big hypermarket about 30 meters away.
And the busy local market about 50 meters away.
If you miss Pizza, go to Scuba Junkies - wonderful foods there. Otherwise the café near the hotel is nice too!
