Carrhotus sp BATU LINTANG are found in silken cells in low vegetation. Not colourful and are sturdy, solid-looking spiders.

This Genus Carrhotus is widespread genus of dull coloured salticids.

Some people with phobia of spiders would wonder how bad they are over in Borneo Island. Are there such spider like those Black Widows in the Americas that has deadly bite? Do people always find them inside room? Or walk into massive webs when trekking in the jungle?

In Borneo there are alwas spiders in rooms. And massive spider webs in all the National Parks. But one things is clear, there is no one die because of spiders in Borneo. And hardly heard of spider bites.

The spider eye This spider eye area and whole of the carapace is dark brown.

This is a female. The female is somewhat lighter in colour.

The legs are slender and all about the same length.

The legs color are yellowish-brown with dark brown annulations (環).

The cephalothorax The cephalothorax is quite high with the top slightly convex, with the rear of the thorax and the sides very steep.

The abdomen is oval, tapering somewhat towards the rear.

2- Epigyne (epigynum). Only a female spider has this organ.
3- Spinnerets

The bottom part of abdomen is light brown with  a widish collar of white hairs around the spinnerets.
