The eyes of Miagrammopes paraorientalis

Four Eyes Spider
Diagnostically important feature of this Miagrammopes species is the presence of
only a single row of 4 eyes running across the front of the spider.
Some said the other first row may be poorly developed, thus giving the
impression that they have only four eyes.

The Eyes arrangements are difference between Pisauridae and
Lycosidae :
Pisauridae have two rows of four eyes each, all roughly the same
size.
Lycosidae have a lower row of four small eyes, upper row are two large eyes with
two big eyes behind.

spiders in Borneo. No scientific name given yet. One unique feature of the eyes
is one pair is crystal in colour. It seem this pair of eyes has no vision
function.

A female Epidius sp BOMBALAI. This genus of Borneo crab spiders need
scientists detail study.


Borboropactus sp SUNGAI TAWAU婆羅洲泥蟹蛛 is a new record in Borneo. No scientific
name given yet.


Eyes of a female Siler semiglaucus of Borneo. The smallest 3rd pair of eyes are
undeveloped.
