Cocoa Village opened to the public on 1st July 2022 from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Before 2022, the Village only receive prearranged Tour Groups.

Cocoa Village is 30 minutes drive from
Tawau International Airport. This once sprawling cocoa plantation estate
that has
miles and miles of cocoa trees as far as the eye can see has been gradually
transforming into an oil palm plantation.
20 years ago,
Sabah claimed to be "The Gourmet Chocolate Capital of the World" as one of the worlds top
cocoa producer, along with Ivory Coast, Ghana and Indonesia. Those day Godiva and M&Ms,
among many other producers, use Sabahan cocoa. By now Sabah concentrate on oil
palm production and Cocoa bean production is no more on worldwide
top ten list.
On prearrangement with
Teck Guan office, the office can offers you a two-hour guided tour of the village showing off
cocoa trees and cocoa fruits in the midst of the very fertile volcanic soil.
At a different location is Teck Guan Cocoa Museum at Tanjung Batu Laut managed
by Majulah Koko Tawau Sdn Bhd.
The old cocoa factory has been converted into Cocoa House with a cafe with
accommodation for overnight visitors.
In the new Cocoa House, you will enjoy a panoramic view of Tawau Town and cocoa
refreshment will be served and lunch can be arranged. With various unique cocoa
snacks, dessert and appetizer, you may taste up many different foods like cocoa
porridge, cocoa noodle, cocoa prawn roll, cocoa banana roll, fresh cocoa juice
etc...

Cocoa Culture Spring
This magnificent waterfall at the village is an ideal local for a picnic.
Nature lovers feel very much at home at the Cocoa Culture Spring which is
surrounded by lush greenery. The village has two main waterfalls and four mini
cascades.
Trek up and down steep stairways, following the sounds of babbling brooks will
end at what promised to be a splendid waterfall.
A magnificent sight to see this 30-foot waterfall surrounded by large shady
trees, the morning sun streaming through the branches.
Cocoa Culture Spring is opened to the public and it is ideal for picnics and
get-togethers of families and friends.
The waterfall is opened to public at Rm 10 per person per entry. That is an ideal place for family picnics and get-togethers.
Teck Guan started planting in 1957 this specially selected, fine-flavored
AMETONADO cocoa in the fertile volcanic soil around the Quoin Hill volcano area.
AMELONADO is superior in its rich cocoa flavor but not easily grown. A few other
cocoa plantations have tried cultivating AMELONADO cocoa but failed. Today Teck
Guan is the largest and successful AMELONADO cocoa producer in Malaysia. From
these best cocoa seeds processed into fine cocoa powder using up-to-date,
state-of-the-art modern processing machines.
