Stamford College was one of the largest and most respected private education groups in Asia. Stamford College has a rich educational history dating back to 1950 when it ' was established. Adapting to a rapidly changing competitive higher education environment Stamford has evolved from a small institute into an international educational institution with six campuses in five Malaysian cities.


The continuous changes in higher education both in Malaysia and internationally has forced higher education colleges to rethink their position in a global society. Over the years, Stamford College has made a number of positive changes; building on its past accomplishments and strengths, initiating new programmes, forging new partnerships with local and foreign universities and professional bodies to move the College to higher levels of achievements. The last 57 years have been a reflection of these accomplishments.

Academic Strengths
Mr. U.K. Menon is the Academic Director of Stamford College. Mr. Menon graduated with a Masters in Law (LLM) from Monash University, Australia, in 1980. He served at the Institute' Teknologi MARA from 1974 to 1990 and was an Associate Director of the Asian Law Centre and Lecturer in Law at Melbourne University prior to joining Stamford College.
Encik Alias Atan is the Chief Executive of Stamford College Petaling Jaya. He holds a Masters in Education from Deakin University, Australia. He has more than 20 years experience in the private education industry and started as the Registrar of the Correspondence Division of Stamford College in 1984.


Dr. Chew Sing Buan [B.A (Hons) (Malaya), M.Ed., Ph.D (Manchester)] is the Director of the Centre for Academic Excellence. He has spent most of his working years in the field of education. Among the positions he has held are Professor in the Faculty of Education, Head of the Department of Social Foundations in Education, and Chairman of the Division of Development Studies in Education, University of Malaya, He is also an author of a number of books on education and employment. Dr. Chew also served as a consultant to the World Bank, UNESCO, IDRC and RIHED,


Dr. Chew Tek Ann is the Head of the School of Business and Marketing. A graduate from the University of Malaya, he was awarded a Colombo Plan Scholarship to pursue his Master of Philosophy degree at the University of Sussex, UK. Later, he received a sponsorship from the Agricultural Development Council, New York to pursue a Non-degree Graduate Programme at the North Carolina State University, U.S. He obtained his PhD from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia.


Mr. Lawrence Chew Seng Chen [ICSA, CIMA, AIB, MIA (M), CA (England and Wales)] has been the Head of the School of Economics, Accounting and Finance since 2002. His work experience is concerned with audit and accountancy corporate planning and corporate finance. Mr, Chew also worked as the Chief Internal Auditor of Alliance Bank, Corporate Planner of the MUI Group and General Manager (Finance and Corporate Planning) of the Lysaght Group.


Dr. Mah Yoon Loong [B.Sc. (Hons) and Ph.D. (Malaya)] is the Head of the School of Foundation Studies and North American Degree Programs. He began his academic career as a lecturer with the University of Malaya from 1986 to 1990. Dr. Mah also worked in senior academic positions in a number of private higher educational institutions.


Mr. Reginald Pereira is the Head, School of Hospitality And Tourism Management. He obtained a Diploma in Hotel Management from The Les Roches College of Hospitality Management in Switzerland. He has been involved in the industry for more than 20 years. Reginald ventured into the education industry with Stamford College where he joined as a lecturer and later managed the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management for the Group overseeing its five Schools in Malaysia. Mr. Pereira has an MBA in Human Resources.
Dr. Chan Kok Eng [B.A (Hons), M.A (Malaya), Ph.D. (Aberdeen)] is the Head of the School of Continuing Education and Training, He was a lecturer in the University of Malaya since 1969 and later retired as an Associate Professor.


Dr. Chua Tee Tee is a retired Associate Professor and former Dean, Institute of Advanced Studies, University of Malaya. He has been contributing his services to Stamford College for many years. He acts as the Head, School of Education and Law.


Dr. Kok Kirn Lian is the Head, Postgraduate Programmes of Stamford College. Dr Kok graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) degree in Economics from the University of Malaya. He was awarded the University Senior Scholarship for his performance in the first-year and second-year examinations and the University and Department Book Prizes for his overall examination performance by the University of Malaya. He was then awarded the Merdeka Scholarship by the British Government and completed a M Sc degree in Statistics from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D degree in Statistics from the University of Edinburgh. Dr. Kok has published about 40 papers in local and foreign journals. He has also presented more than 40 papers in local and overseas conferences.


Dr. Gregory Thong Tin Sin is the Head, School of Human Resource Management. He retired from the University of Malaya as Professor of Business Administration and has served as Chairman in the Division of Business Administration and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administration, University of Malaya. A life member of the Malaysian Institute of Human Resource Management and member of the Institution of Engineers, Malaysia, Dr Thong was also a Visiting Professor to the Graduate School of International Development and Cooperation, Hiroshima University, Japan, He was also Head of the Human Resource and Industrial Management Division as well as Associate Professor in the School of Accountancy & Business at the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
Mr. Matthew Charles Keough is the Head, Stamford English Language Centre (SELC). Prior to this appointment, he was a Senior Lecturer in the SELC and NADR Matthew has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Arts from the Adelaide University, Australia. The B.A. Economics degree was taken with a double major in Economics and Psychology. The Bachelor of Arts degree was also taken with a double degree in Politics and Philosophy. Matthew joined Stamford in January 2001. He has a substantial number of years of teaching experience in large private educational institutions in the Klang Valley.


Mrs. Ngu Yoke Yee [ICSA (UK), M.Ed. (Deakin)] is the Head of the School of Secretarial Studies. She has been a lecturer since 1989 and the Principal of Systematic Secretarial Centre, Kuala Lumpur prior to joining Stamford College,
 


Programme Outline
Stamford College offers over 50 courses of study from Bachelor to Postgraduate Degrees, Diploma, and Foundation programmes in disciplines such as Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Hospitality Management, and Secretarial and Administrative Management. These programmes provide students with the option of pursuing internationally recognized qualifications without having to go overseas.
