ADMISSION CRITERIA Any one of the following
1	Three Principle B or CGPA of 3.0 for three Science subject (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology) in STPM or Foundation.
2	Three Principle B or CGPA of 3.0 for three Science subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology) in the Matriculation Examination conducted by the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
3	Average of three C's or CGPA of 3.0 for three Science subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology) in A levels.
4	SPM: Minimum requirement of five B4's in Science, i.e Add. Maths, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Non-Malaysian Students Completion of higher secondary school examination with minimum eligible marks as prescribed by their respective country's professional bodies for admission.

Location of The Penang International Dental College : Kepala Betas (Bertam), Penang.

A hi-tech laboratory facilities and a state-of-the-art dental hospital with 250dental chairs spread over 150,000 sq. ft., PIDC buiding is a landmark dental institute in Malaysia.
The 10 acre campus house sports, entertainment and communication facilities. Accommodation for the student will be provided in the campus in thoughtfully planned hostel blocks.

Twinning Programme : Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) -
The programme initial two years of study of Pre-Clinical (Basic Science) is done at VMU Campus in Salem, India. On successful completion of Pre-Clinical study in India, the students do the final three years of Clinical programme at PIDC in the Penang Campus.

Programme Outline

The Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) Degree offered is in Twinning Association with VMU University of Salem. India, The first two years of preclinical studies is conducted in Salem, India and the final three years of clinical studies in Penang.

THE BACHELOR OF DENTAL SURGERY (BDS) PROGRAMME

Penang International Dental College offers a five years dental degree under the twinning programme with Vinayaka Missions University. Students will be based in India for the first two years of their pre-clinical studies and thereafter they will pursue the final three years of clinical studies in Penang.

The college is approved by the Government of Malaysia. The degree is awarded from Vinayaka Missions University,
India.

Satellite Clinics and Teaching Facilities

PIDC is opening its first satellite clinic in Butterworth in the first quarter of 2008. Three floors of clinical facilities designed to give students exposure in clinical training will act as a teaching centre,

In collaboration with the Ministry of Health, PIDC students will obtain training in surgical and Medicine classes at the Penang Hospital,

The Satellite Centre located near the Ferry terminal in Butterworth will be one of more to be established in time. The concept of having satellite clinics to complement the new hospital in Kepala Batas will attract more patients in densely populated neighborhoods.

The University campus is erected within an area of 600 acres at the outskirts of Salem in Tamilnadu. The Ministry of Human Resources Development with recommendations of the University Grants Commission (UGC) had conferred "University" status to the University.

ADMISSION OF STUDENTS

There are two intakes in a year which will be in March and September. Applicants should complete the
application form and all admissions are based on academic merit. An application processing fee of RM500 is collected along with the application form and for foreign students will be US $150.

Student Support Services An International Student Unit will take care of the day to day needs of international students.

Social Responsibilities As part of our social responsibility, we are planning to provide subsidized dental treatment for the poor, retired and government servants.

Recognition The VMU University collaborates with the Tong Myong University of Information Technology (TIT) Busan, South Korea in faculty and student exchange programmes. VMU will also structure courses in Information Technology for TIT.

VMU's BDS degree is recognized by Commonwealth universities, Malaysian Dental Council, JPA of Malaysia and WHO list of approved colleges.
