天后宮供奉保佑航海人順利航行的海上女神──媽祖娘娘。這古色古香的建築物也是斗湖海南同胞保存優良的歷史文化

Ta Tien Hou Temple is also commonly known as Ma Chu Temple. The god worshipped in Tien Hou Temple is The Heaven God Mother (Mother Ma Chu), the most worshipped god in the Chinese fishing communities along the sea cost town and villages.

Matsu (Tien-Shang Sheng-Mu) is an important deities in Chinese tradition. Matsu was promoted to Tien Hou (Queen of Heaven) by the emperors for her miraculous power to help people in need.

There are many temples that worship Matsu as a deity in Asia. The statue of the goddess situated at the center and flanked by the two generals, Chien-Li-Yen and Shu-Feng-Erh. Matsu is worshipped among sailors and fishermen who hazard their lives upon the waters. Thien Hou performed miracles on the sea like those of Jesus.

媽祖神像清淨神聖，安撫人心情平靜、安祥。

殿前4根高達16呎的龍柱，穩重地撐住廟殿。

紅彤彤燈籠高高掛，喜洋洋地佈起了天后宮的濃濃春意。

長年累月都洋溢濃濃的中國風味，古色古香、富麗堂皇的宮殿式建築風格突顯了她的巍峨雄偉、非凡氣派。

天后娘娘啊！在農曆舊歲方除、新年伊始之際，她是虔誠信徒心中的依靠，大家紛聖轉運、祈福，祈求天后大顯靈威疪佑弟子們新年行好運，無災無難地再過新的一年。
