1891 - On 20 January 1891 came the resolution of the rough delineation. A rough delineation of the boundary between Dutch Borneo and the British North Borneo Chartered Company territory across Sebatik Island.
1898 - Tawau town began early 1890’s as a tiny nucleus of 200 inhabitants from Kalimantan.
1930 - Brief accounts of early history of Tawau
1950 - Tawau Holy Trinity School around 1950's
1953 - 7th March 1953 Tawau Post Office was burnt during a fire break out.
1955 - The Tawau Town Board was constituted. The Board control over its own finances and local authorities.
