一九五二年十月五日(星期日) 黃錫基寫下了上面最後一段的筆記. 之後所有剩下的頁面都是空白. 筆記本裝訂的書籤, 也永遠的定格在這一九五二年這一頁,沒有再移動過. 64年後當我再次打開這本筆記本時,黃色書籤已退色, 頁面已發黃, 但裡面所書寫的事情成了無比珍貴的紀錄-----包括我們兄弟姊妹從所無知的家庭秘密.

Wong Kee Nam has no blood relation with our Wong family thought he also bear the surname Wong. I have no memory of him because he passed away when I was 3 year old. But he is the most remembered person of Grandmother when I stay with her at the age of 11 and 12 when I stayed with her.Who is Wong Kee Nam ?...................

OBITUARY Mr. Wilson Wong Syak Kee aged 88 years was called home to be with the Lord at 3:45 am on 19 June 2008 (Thursday) leaving behind the following to mourn his loss:
The cortege will leave The Sarawak
Thong Sim Siang T'ng, Gold Jade Road, Kuching on Sunday 22 June 2008
at 12:30 noon, and for funeral service at St. Thomas's Cathedral,
Kuching at 1:00 p.m., and thereafter for burial at Nirvana Memorial
Park, Siniawan, Kuching/Bau Road, Kuching. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection

In a clear folder he left behind was a set of 3 pieces of notes which he titled DATA. In the 3 clipped together notes he detailed down the important dates of marriage and arrival in Kuching. The children came across this 3 notes the day after his funeral on 22-6-2008 Sunday

Wong Syak Kee kept less photos as compared with his wife Liew Soon Tshing.
Here are the only few available on how he looked like in his younger age.
1957 Family Group Photo at Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei
Taken during a holiday trip back to Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu) dropping by Brunei to visit relative Chin. Chin married the sister of Liew Soon Tshin's mother. Chin was owner Modern Studio photo shop in Brunei. Chin was the photographer of this above photo with the photo processed in his dark room in Modern Studio.
2024 remark from Wong Fook Yee (the boy in the middle) : I can remember well the moment this photo was taken but have no more any trace of memory of that 1957 trip from Kuching to Jesselton. The reason why the moment of photography is still vivid after 70 years was that was very hot and bright noon day. The graze from the sun was so strong I could hardly open my eyes......... That same day we also went to the Brunei airport to have another group photo taken...... The city Mosque and airport were the two modern structures in 1957 Bandar Seri Begawan. Much as that Chin took the trouble to arrange transport (Chin most probeble has his own car at that time) to these two locations to have our family group photos taken....... Why no family photo was taken inside his photo studio where he has a photo booth.
The purpose of taking the trouble to take this outdoor shot was for the newly completed Mosque. As a professional photographer, Chin would capture a background with good view of the mosque at a batter angle. Most likely there was another photo with batter view but not managed to be kept till today.
