Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman Education Loan

Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman (YTAR) or Tunku Abdul Rahman Foundation was set up as a commemoration service to Almarhum Y.T.M. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra AI-Haj, Malaysia's first Prime Minister who is also fondly remembered as the "Father of Malaysia".

YTAR is a legal alliance set up under the Akta Parlimen Bilangan 43, 1966 on 28 July 1966. It is under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Higher Education.

	Basic requirements
1	• Candidates must be Malaysian citizens and not more than 25 years old
2	• Have already completed the first year of a Bachelor's degree programme at any local higher educational institutions and do not have any loan or scholarship

	Academic and Co-curricular Requirements
1	• Possess excellent academic result in SPM/STPM/Matriculation/Foundation programme
2	• Pass SPM with credits in Bahasa Malaysia and English
3	• Obtain a CGPA of 3.5 and above during the first year of their Bachelor's degree examination
4	• Possess strong leadership qualities and actively participates in co-curricular activities

	Additional Requirements
1	• Upon graduation, the scholars must remain in Malaysia to work for the public or private sector for a minimum of five years.
2	• Application has to be supported by the Office of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic)

	Value of Award
1	• Full tuition fee
2	• Monthly living allowance of RM1,000
3	• Book allowance of RM300 per semester
4	• Yearly allowance for activities related to study
5	• Annual return air fare to travel back to Sabah or Sarawak for those studying in Peninsular Malaysia or vice versa

Eligibility	The scheme is open to all Malaysian citizens who have successfully been accepted into any one of the local public institute of higher learning - IPTA or local private institute of higher learning - IPTS; and preference will be given to year 2 candidates who have yet to receive any financial assistance.
How to Apply	· The Application Form costs RM7.00 and is to be paid by Kiriman Wang, Wang Pos or Bank draft with the name "YAYASAN TUNKU ANDUL RAHMAN". · Application is to be sent by post together with a 25cm X 18cm (A4 size) self-addressed (candidate's address) envelope plus a 60 cents stamp to the above address
Field of Study	Preference is given to candidates who are attending science and technology courses recognized by the Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam or those courses which are considered important by the Lembaga Pemegang Amanah Yayasan.
