Taxi Fares from Kota Kinabalu City to other towns and places of interest

From Kota Kinabalu  to Kalimantan, Indonesia

The gateway in Sabah to Indonesia is Tawau Town in the utmost east location.

From Kota Kinabalu take a bus to Tawau  (RM90)  10 hours trip, 1 meal is provided.  From Tawau take a ferry to Nunukan in Kalimantan. From Nunukan you can proceed to Tarakan then proceed way down by bus to Balikpapan and Banjarmasin.

Another divers' favorite. The Layang Layang Atoll, is located 165 miles north west of Kota Kinabalu. Oval-shaped and blessed with clear blue waters, you can also windsurf, sail a catamaran, dive, snorkel, fish to your heart's content, then climb back on land and watch the thousands of migratory birds nesting there in this nature lover's paradise.

City Bus operates two major routes one north of KK City and the other one toward the south of KK City. City Bus buses are all fully air-conditioned Bus fare starts from RM 1 to RM 2.

PUT operates on two major routes, and most of the buses don’t have air conditional. Bus fare start from RM 0.60 to RM 2.00.

Mini-Bus Station
The mini-bus station is situated next to Wawasan Plaza at the southern end of Jalan Tun Fuad Stephen. Mini-bus mostly goes to areas where the Major bus companies do not go.  Most mini-bus  does not have air condition.

 Fares are between RM 1 to RM 2.
